SHOW: Betsey Johnson
MAKEUP: NARS/ Fulvia Farolfi
THE LOOK: Prom Queens of the world, turn in those sachets—you've officially been one-upped by Betsey Johnson. The infamously zany designer gave her spring show a 1950's Prom theme, showcasing all the frou-frou dresses, gaudy glasses and (most importantly) bright, glitter-crazy makeup you can image. NARS's lead artist Fulvia Farolfi created the beautiful throw-back look—a look that's all about the simple use of very flirty, dramatic color, she says. Using bright, bright turquoise eyeliner pencil, she stenciled a cat-eye along the upper lashes—with soft blue shadow on the lid, and light coats of mascara—and then brushed glitter up to the brow bone. Cheeks and lips were a flamingo-pink complement to the noisy turquoise eyes—inarguably the best color duo this side of Pleasantville.
