SPRING 2008 - Emerging Beauty Trends

We're about mid-way through Fashion Month (made it through New York, London, half way through Milan, with Paris and Los Angeles to come), and already we're seeing some emerging beauty mega-trends. Since sitting on vital beauty information is decidedly not our forte, we're sharing a first look at the trends with you--now. Stay tuned for the final report in early October (right after we're done reporting live from LA Fashion Week). The good news: You can hold on to that blue nail polish.

P.S. SEE all the looks we're gushing about on our new obsession, Style.com's LookBooks. Check it out - they're seriously addictive.

DARK TIPS: We're seeing lots of navy, dark blue, plum and purple.

LIPS LIKE CANDY: The 2 big lip looks are sweet shades of matte pink and glossy coral. In the pink category, shades are ranging from bubble gum to blue-pink barbie doll, and the very matte, pressed in look is a must. It's the opposite for coral lips. Usually paired with gold eyes (see below), we're seeing glossy finishes, in a fresh, springy take on fall's must-have red lip.

GOLD IS THE NEW TAUPE: We're seeing it blended lightly at inner corner and under eyes, usually worn without mascara. Paired with dark lips it gives a fresh spring spin on fall’s ladylike trends. With pale lips, you’ve got warm weather grunge.

COLOR POP SHADOWS:
Never worn as one, Sping's eye shadows have a colorful layering effect, using brights like purple, neon green and blue to pop neutral gold, taupe, grey and bronze shadows. The overall effect is very art school confidential.

MOST DARING TREND:
White Mascara, yo.
