To set the scene: For the past 7 days, I'd been driving between Hollywood, Culver City, El Segundo, and Irvine—in classic L.A. traffic, naturally—hopping from fashion shows to various appointments, all while battling a wicked cold. I needed something to whoop the stress out of me, in the most soothing way possible. My relaxation Rx was filled with a 90-minute Head-to-Toe treatment at the Ole Henriksen Spa on Sunset. To start, my esthetician Christina doused my hair in a reparative conditioner, working it in with acupressure point scalp massage movements. After that heavenly handling, she wrapped my head in warm towel, infused with an amazing orange scent (redolent of a favorite fragrance of mine, Acqua di Parma's Blu Mediterraneo Arancia Di Capri). Next, she treated my feet to a reflexology session, complete with the slightly tingly Muscle Comfort Lotion for an invigorating kick. Christina then washed me down—top to bottom, front to back—with Clarifying Body Wash, followed by the aromatic Rub 'N Buff Salt Scrub. My favorite part came immediately after, when she left me in the treatment room (pictured, but not me!) and let an overhead shower "rain" on me. Post pampering precipitation, Christina returned to rub me down Swedish style with a sleek hydrating lotion, massage my arm and hands with a sumptuous hand cream, and swathe my face in black currant energizing complexion oil with pressure point massage strokes. In the end, my skin was unusually soft, my hair smelled incredible, my sinuses had cleared temporarily, and my legs felt like jelly as I walked to my car. Many thanks to the Ole Henriksen Spa for serving me the perfect antidote to a jam-packed week; I felt anew from my first follicle to my last little piggie. —Mari Tzikas, Sephora
