We caught up with tattoo artist and LA Ink star Kat Von D at Sephora's press event last week, for a preview of her super edgy new product line (she's wearing it in the video - loving that black green shadow) that will be debuting at Sephora in mid May. Check out the packaging--she designed it herself based on one of her favorite rose tattoos. The lipstick? Only in shades of red. The product names? Totally personal: Her signature palette is named after her cat, Ludwig. And the best part? Kat's so nice and completely unassuming--she actually asked for permission to grab a press comp to show her mom. Um, yes?!

Cosmetic companys give you beautiful elaborate eye poping packaging to pull you in but are you buying quality for your your hard earned dollar? Or are you paying for fillers chemicals preservers colors and being cheated out of quality?These are things woman usually don't pay attention to because they don't know and they know we just want to look good!Read the ingrediants!

This is a sephora brand product. They will charge the same amount as they would for any of thier brand products. I think it's just as easy to start pointing fingers at the luxury lines that charge $60 for foundation.
The lemming line is way old. If you like it then buy it. I could care less about her, but if the product is as nice as some of the other Sephora stuff is, then I maybe i'll pick it up.
Hecka cute. I love Kat Von D. Definitely gonna go check it out when it gets there and might be getting some of it. HOTT! The Sephora brand line is not that expensive, so it may be an okay price. I think she will keep the one named Orbi as that and make something much more intense named Nikki cuz he wears almost as much makeup as her. lol.
tell ya' what...I'll be the first one in line to buy this make-up! Kat Von D is talented, sophisticated,and absolutely gorgeous! I think she has worked hard to get where she is and I have total respect for her! Like the saying goes.."jealousy is a disease..hope you get well soon.."! Lets look at a couple of points, and to play devil's advocate...
1) The talent of Kat in the Tattoo world does not mean that the make up would be any good. Kat does have a beautiful face, and has good natural coloring.
2) Even if the make-up is good quality, it doesn't mean that it will work well on your personal skin type. Some people cannot pull off red lipstick shades, some people cannot pull off the hard black/dark eye makeup as Kat usually wears (personally, I like the dramatic look of her eyes, it suits her).
3) If you like it buy it, if you don't like it don't buy it. However, don't berate others if they choose to not buy it.
Sure, I'll check it out, I go to Sephora regularly. But not because it is Kat Von D's line of makeup, but because it is something new, and something new is not always a bad thing, no matter who's name is on the line. In response to the cost of the product, there is no mention here as to what the average cost of anything in the line would be, but most things at Sephora have a higher cost than something you would find at a run-of-the-mill drug store ANYWAY.
man...some bitches here. as a former employee of sephora you have to think about the time and effort put into these products. this isnt cover girl crappy make up. these are rich, creamy, heavily pigmented colors. there for, it will be a little more pricey than crap you would buy at walmart. and so what if the line isnt for EVERYONE! bare minerals isnt for everyone but you dont here people talking smack about that line, do ya? and for who ever said she was "uneducated" ,learn how to freakin spell! everyone just needs to stop being so judgemental. its just makeup! no, shes not perfect. but so what.

Bare Minerals claims to be all natural and chemical free when in fact it contains bismuth oxychloride which is a chemical it causes itchy irritation large pores acne and gives a greasy mask like look on the face.I suffered with bad skin for many many years until i started researching.Bacteria mixed with these chemicals from your makeup jar is very bad.It could even mess up your skin with time.
There have even been studies that show that makeup can pass threw the pores and in to your body.So even if you have great skin that doesn't mean it isn't entering your body.As woman we use several cosmetic items per day so think about all the amonts of chemical you are applying each day.I know woman who use to apply concealer,foundation,then the powder every day to cover up all the skin problems which makes them worse.These are just things to think about.

i went to sephora over the weekend. i love the packaging on her stuff. but it's not overly exciting. and there wasn't a lot.
Yeah, it's neat she is opening a make-up line. She's a total doll. It's too bad it will probably take 8 hours to work for if I were going to buy it. Minimum wage 19 year old. It would be great if she put out matte foundation for pale skin tones. I've been looking for that stuff everywhere.. I have yet to find it. Everything is far too dark for my skin.

I think that everyone has a little too much time on their hands to be sitting at the computer and bashing on people.
