Beauty World Tour: Tokyo

I don't have the time or funds to jet set around the globe (yet!) so I'm setting for the next best thing: a beauty world tour. From time to time, I'll be picking some of the world's prettiest destinations and tying it to beauty products evocative of the location both in name and spirit. (If you have a place you'd like me to put on my itinerary, leave a comment and let me know!)

Now boarding: Tokyo. Home of Harajuku girls, this international hub is the namesake and birthplace of many modern beauty must-haves. As of yesterday, I'm unabashedly addicted to Lancôme's new Juicy Tubes World Tour Ultra Shiny Lip Gloss in Tokyo Plum Blossom. It's a sheer-mauve shade infused with fruity flavor—and even smells a little like gardenia, my fave floral aroma. Obsessed! One more "Tokyo" shade to try: NARS Duo Eye Shadow in Tokyo. Lastly, say "konnichiwa" to Kenzo, a Japan-based brand, who just launched a men's fragrance inspired by the energy of the bustling city, Tokyo by Kenzo. It's pumped with ginger, green tea, and bitter orange and comes in a sleek, artistic bottle (see above)—a Kenzo signature. Now, complete your Japanese shopping trip with stops at Imju Fiberwig, Shiseido, and Issey Miyake (all Japan exports). Sayonara!
