More from our summer cover shoot: We're creating a nude lip for one of our shots and discussion turned to the never-ending quest for a flattering beige lip shade (pressing issues, I know). From "poo poo lips" to "Night of the Living Dead" to "heroin-creep" to (my fave) "lipless in Seattle" everyone has their own special term to describe how horrible they think nude lipstick makes them look. We pressed makeup artist Fiona Stiles for a nude lipstick that is universally flattering, and she immediately whipped out her Make Up For Ever Lipstick 501 a matte sepia (pictured on far right, and swiped). "I love this shade because you can just pat it on anyone's lips, and it softly fades their natural lip color to nude, but a nude with their own natural undertones," says Stiles. "The formula is matte, but not drying, and you can layer it on to go as nude as you desire." Styles dabs a bit of clear gloss on top, and viola, pretty nude lips--on all of us. We're shocked lipless.
