SNEAK PEEK: LORAC Hollywood Heat

Maybe it’s due to the fact that I wore a uniform for the bulk of my schooling, but I generally shy away from kits. I guess the notion that someone is even just gently insinuating what I should wear together makes me feel all back in the second grade with Sr. Philomena or something. Of course that was all before I met the Sephora exclusive limited-edition LORAC Hollywood Heat Makeup Collection $35, which makes it debut in May. It's stocked with mini versions of LORAC's TANtalizer, Tropical Dream Mocktail, plus a new bronzer blush combo and an eye shadow trio, all in a gorg bronze metallic bag. First off, take a look at that travel bag! Um, is anyone else thinking what I’m thinking? That’s the absolute definition of the word cute. Ditto on the Eye Shadow Trio. Unlike some trios I’ve had in the past, I totally know that each one of these bronzed shades is going to be gone equally as fast—the colors are universally flattering, the shimmer is subtle yet sexy, and the formula is 100% goof-proof. Like the entire notion of the kit, the mini TANtalizer Body Bronzing Luminizer looks a bit intimidating. And the “quick drying formula” claim immediately tapped into my one too many streaked self-tanner incidents. But the fact is I was beyond wrong. This stuff is the bomb. The tinted moisturizer so lightweight, you honestly feel like you’ve got nothing on. The only clue is the sun-kissed sheen. And have I mentioned the mini Hot & Spicy Blush/Bronzer, a pretty peachy blush paired with a superlight, exquisitely goof-proof bronzer? Yeah, well, it’s perf. —Jenna Mahoney
