Believe it or not: I'm the only one in the free world who doesn't watch Gossip Girl. [EDITOR NOTE: I really can't believe that!]
There is no reason behind it; I'm not anti or anything; it simply just hasn't made it onto my scant rotation. I am, however, completely tuned into the cultural impact this vehicle is having on everyone aged 10-62 . I'm even guilty of having jumped on the headband wagon. But one recent storyline I can't quite wrap my head around is when a certain main character goes to school with—gasp—dirty hair.
Now, I can tell you from personal experience, a gently unwashed head at an all-girls school (and at the beauty depts. of most maj. mags) is a definite hair do. But I will admit there is a delicate balance of getting it just right. Too many natural oils and you're running into groodie country. Some people swear by hair powder

Yay! I don't watch Gossip Girl, either! But does skipping the show in favor of trolling the tabloids for GG style tips count?
Or does actually referring to the show as "GG" null and void my comments?
I wish I could skip a day of hair washing. My scalp gets too oily too fast and I wind up obsessing over it...
You can actually train your head to produce less oil. Reduce the amount of times you wash your hair to about 1-2 times a week max. Your hair will go FERRAL, but it will settle down within 3 months.
When you wash your hair every day your head goes "oh, no oil, better put it back..." and then you feel like you have oily hair again within a day. If you ease off, your head takes longer to realise there is no oil and thus replaces it a lot slower. Give it a try!
I used to wash every day and then I got hair extensions & had to ease up. Now I was once every 5 days and its so much better!
