Tokyo Tour: Japanese Commercials

From manga-inspired advertisements to irreverent TV ad's, the advertisements here are addictively cute. My fave is for a pasta sauce company called Tarako. Tarako is a type of cod roe fish egg, personified here by slightly horrifying Kewpie dolls, which, yes, the cute little girl (with a rockstar bowl cut) actually eats at the end of the commercial. The best part? Tarako created a website where you can play dress up with the cod-roe Kewpie dolls, putting them in outfits that slightly resemble the ubiquitous bedazzled cell phones. This takes cos-play to an entirely new level.
