The quote "God is in the details" certainly rings true in Tokyo. The ability to personalize just about everything you own is dazzling-ly vast: Even the most mundane accessories (like keys) are sold in a dizzying array of colors and prints. One of my favorite discoveries is that many nail salons can bedazzle your nails and your cell phones, so they match. You just drop off your cell phone while you're shopping, and come back in 2 hours for a perfectly bedazzeled cell phone, then get the manicure to match it (how easy is that?). As far as nails go, the flashier the better. The acrylic selection is amazingly ornate, and lots of the hipper gals wear them with pride, as just another way to show off their individual style; I bought a bunch and will post pic's later, but wanted to leave you with a teaser here. I'm totally test driving a pair of these to see how long they last on me (my guess is about an hour).
