Tried + Tested: Clarins Younger Longer Balm

Last week I noticed that those few fine lines on my forehead that I've been engaging in a little hide 'n seek with for the past few years are no longer fine and no longer hiding. So, I did what any self-respecting wrinkle-hater would do—I amped up my needle-fearing self to get injected. Once reality set in (you're looking at someone who needs a lollipop before she gets her shots), I reached for the brand spankin' new Clarins Younger Longer Balm ($98). Packed with free-radical fighting antioxidants, the patented formula promises to spur microcirculation, prevent dehydration and stimulate slackening skin. There's a host of ingredients, including maritime pine, green algae, centella and butcher's broom, that help to repair and protect age-altered capillaries and reverse the effects of enviro pollution. With all these claims, I'm thinking this balm better bring it. And does it ever! First off, this stuff is r-ii-ich. I'm talking Richie Rich loaded. (It's even got that upscale scent to it.) And boy, does it feel like it is fighting the good fight from the second it is applied. Even after only five minutes of patting the heavy cream across my forehead, my skin literally felt smoother, tighter and, oh, so younger. After a few days of using this fountain of youth, I swear my face looks like I've gone back in time. I'm telling you this is the stuff Amerigo Vespucci wish he discovered. The cream also comes with a pretty pamphlet that explains all of its anti-aging powers and the specialized patting application method. - Jenna Mahoney
