Product Patrol: This Week's Hottest Launches

Here are the top 5 newbies for this week:

Smashbox Desert Chic Fusion Body Bronzing Powder & Brush Set: Summer is upon us and you’re feeling bombarded by bronzers. With so many to choose from, it’s hard to narrow down the list and find the one with that special something. Not to rub it in your face (literally), but I’ve found mine: the limited- edition Desert Chic Bronzing Powder Set. It has the prettiest swirl of tawny-toned earth minerals I’ve ever seen and it carries a freesia-and-iris-dancing-in-the-sunlight scent that I’d like to bottle. Smashbox also has a new bronzy eye/cheek color compact and a dual-ended color/liner lip pencil and, although their scent is not nearly as nice, they get props for being versatile.

Anastasia Go Brow - Universal Brow Pencil: I had a friend in high school who was obsessed with eyebrows—it was first thing she noticed on everyone. For example, if I asked her about a date, she would describe the guy in terms of his brows. It was never “tall and handsome, ‘boring/funny’, or ‘pretty blue eyes’. It was always ‘high maintenance over-plucker’, or ‘thick, black, furry caterpillars’, or ‘pluckage perfection in the middle’. I never understood this fascination, but lately I’ve come up with a theory—eyebrows are so important we don’t even notice how important they are. So much time and money is spent enhancing other features but often the brows, a huge promoter or demoter of facial structure, go untouched. Today, I vow to my brows that I will spend more time on them and give them the love and respect they deserve. Each day, I will start my beauty routine with Anastasia’s ‘Go Brow’—and I shall shape and highlight to perfection.

Lancome Brazilian Earth Colors Collection: Everything about supermodel Daria Werbowy is gorgeous—and her makeup collection is no exception. The Sephora-exclusive Brazilian Earth Colors Collection is full of neutral nudes, earthy browns, and warm golds that have a balmy-bohemian flare. There’s a nude, shiny lip gloss, a smooth, subtle beige lip stick, and a mirrored eyeshadow compact that creates both natural and sultry looks. All proceeds benefit Centro Espacial, an art center for young adults that Daria fell in love with while visiting Rio de Janeiro.

Sephora Brand Safari Collection - Giraffe & Zebra: Lions and tigers and bears? No way! Zebras and Giraffes—the nice and pretty ones—inspired Sephora’s Safari Collection. These two collections are full of multi-sized zebra or giraffe-print bags, brushes, a bronzer, and a mix of blue and white (for zebra) and orange and white (for giraffe) pouches that compliment and complete the collection. I can't wait to get these bags, and I also can't wait to go on an African safari—someday...sigh.

IZOD Eau de Toilette Spray: I get ‘Ice Ice Baby’ stuck in my head every time I see and smell this bottle—it just seems to scream cool and icy. With citrusy notes of lime, tangerine, and grapefruit mixed with soothing lavender, juniper, saffron, and incense, this fragrance proves that opposites really do attract…like chocolate and vanilla. Speaking of Vanilla: Get your man a can from this new brand while it still stands because it’s so in demand…baby.
