Sometimes I feel like my posts here at bit like therapy. I tell all you folks on the worldwide interweb some deep dark beauty prob. tmi and then I find a bit resolve. (Talk about tmi: Last night I had a dream that I was totes besties with JenGar and Ben. We went stand-up surfing together. What do you think that means?) But I digress. When the Shimmering Shine Liquid Eye Shadow by Bourjois ($16) popped up in my product review pile, I got total night sweats. Just the words liquid and eye in the same sentence get me all cringey remembering my Nirvana days of uneven, smudged-across-my-face-double-black liner. So when I saw that these metallic-hued shadows have a 55% water content I pictured the inevitable—streaky, uneven color that easily migrates to places you wish it wouldn't. And that thought would be, um, totally wrong. The pearelescent colors go on smoothly and immediately stay-put to impart serious shimmer all daylong. There are six shimmering shades and they all have fantastique French names. OK, full disclosure: The names are actually the colors in the le français. But you've got to admit Gris Platine, Rose Électron and Brun Magnétique sound a whole ton more merveilleux than Silvery Grey with blue accent, Rosey Sheen and Metallic Iridescent Brown. I'm not going to lie; the packaging is a tiny bit complicated (I had to have my adoring bf open the thing for me). But once you figure it out, it's all worth it. That application wand rocks! Now I guess there's only one last thing to say: Vive le Bourjois! - Jenna Mahoney
