MEN AT WORK Applying Makeup

I've made no secret of my campaign to get more men (or even "a man") to wear makeup.

Apparently I should move campaign headquarters to Korea: According to jobkorea.com, "11 percent of 454 personnel supervisors have interviewed male applicants who wore makeup."

Nice.

Unfortunately, The Korean Times cautions that most employers believe, "Male applicants who wear makeup give a bad first impression to those interviewing them."

All I have to say to that is MEN: Here's a secret we girls have known all along: Blend, blend, blend. Your makeup should not be obvious (unless we're talking eyeliner at that job interview...I mean, are we?).

In fact, to help this crusade along, I'm offering up an easy step-by-step tutorial I found on How To Apply Makeup As A Man. With video! To use "your lingo:" It's a slam-dunk!

Don't be discouraged. It's true that most girls have a leg up on you, having started practicing with the powders and lipglosses around age 13. However, with a little patience and a few hours logged in front of a mirror (tip: go for natural lighting, not your bathroom lighting), you, too, can have makeup so flawless, an interview will never know.

How scary would it be to be dating a guy and one day discover he wears makeup!?!

HAHA!! That made me snort my coffee-- I hadn't even thought of that! I guess if he screams, "Don't come in here!" every time you get near the bathroom, that's a flag.
