Tried + Tested: Oscar Blandi Lacca Hairspray

Stop me if you've heard this before: I'm not so good with hair.

I struggle with the jaunty updos and it is pretty much an everyday occurrence that I lament the fact that I haven't the braiding prowess of a certain new mom with a Simple Life.

I guess you could say I'm strictly a wash and go girl. And while that has its benes (more time to blog in the morning! I save $$ on electric bills by bypassing the blow dryer!), I am totally at the mercy of my mane. And if hair just ain't feeling like bringing it, well, then I'm forced to take up residence in flat land or flyaway city.

So when a make or break career meeting came up the other week, I was in full on panic mode about the hair. Thank the good heavens on high for Oscar Blandi and his dad's homemade hairspray.

The Sephora exclusive Oscar Blandi Lacca Hairspray ($23) (which is based on his daddy's recipe) promises serious frizz control, a whole lot of shine and, drum-roll please, all-day hold.

Know those you had me at hello moments? Well, this is one of 'em, baby. After a tousle and a swish I got my just clean enough/just dirty enough hair in the exact body, wave, volume position desired. Then armed with my can o' anti-static spray, I did a spritz at the roots for the volume, a another blast to tame those 'baby hairs' and a halo spray across the top for that all day shine.

The fact that the active ingredients are sugar and honey just make the results feel all the more sweet. And the jobber? Well, keep your fingers crossed that it goes as smoothly as my hair.
