The Flirty Dozen: How Many Products Do YOU Use Per Day?

I recently read that women use an average of a dozen personal-care products a day and men use about six (slacking, I think we call that).

That stat can't be right. Either that, or I'd like to take a bow as Girl Who Is Leading The Nation In Per Captia Beauty Consumption. And Who Wants To Think Of A Better Title Than That.

My bathroom routine alone clocks in at 5 objets: toothpaste, Philosophy Purity Made Simple Face Wash, shampoo, conditioner, and Philosophy The Microdelivery Mini Peel Pads.

And that's before I've even gotten to the makeup bag - because that product bomb is another 11*. Then we move onto the hair, and that's another 2 for mousse and hairspray. And throughout the day, there are hand lotion applications. Many of them.

That brings my total to 19 products a day. Am I nuts? Or is it the number 12 that's nuts?

*No really, I counted: Kinerase for the eyes, sunblock for the face, then brow powder, primer, foundation/powder (I use Clinique's Almost Powder, the foundation-powder-in-1, so ca-ching! product counter savings!), concealer as needed - and it almost always is, liquid liner, shadow duo (is that two? Or one?), mascara, and, of course, my Benefit Miss Popularity. Gotta be lit up.

Let's see:
Cetaphil Normal to Oily Facial Cleanser
Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner
bareMinerals Skin Rev-er Upper
MAC Moisturelush Eye Cream
DevaCurl Moisture Spray (for my hair)

Makeup is whatever I'm using that day, but always consists of:
YSL Touche Eclat
Foundation (liquid, powder or tinted moisturizer)
Concealer
Brow gel or pencil
Some kind of eyeshadow (at least one)
Eyeliner
Mascara
Blush (and usually bronzer)
Lip Balm
Lipgloss

Perfume
Does lotion count?

That's at least 16 products a day. I think the numbers are off. Either that, or I'm a weirdo, which is totally possible.

PHEW. I am sooo glad I'm not the only one who isn't even close to the "no more than 12" business. I demand a recount. Who keeps it to 12? Or less??

I hit 30 and I quit counting.

The older I get, the more products it takes to make it look like I'm not wearing a lot of products.

shampoo, conditioner, nioxin leave-in treatment, neutrogena SPF 30 eye cream, l'oreal self-tanner with SPF 15, neutrogena hydrating salicylic acid gel, lancome cream on my drier cheeks (combination skin), shadow, liner, mascara, lip gloss, perfume (Dior Addict or Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Mist atm).
I like to use Clinique gel liner in Bronze as a shadow - it wears beautifully, and I use cheap Prestige waterproof liner in Charcoal Brown over it. If I use a highlighter I use Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy, but that's kind of sparkly for work, at work I use Rocket City pale gold sheer shimmer powder.
