The Sephora Project - Building A Beauty-full World

Sephora’s latest philanthropic initiative to educate and empower women, The Sephora Project, got off to a very glamorous start at this past Tuesday night’s cocktail celebration held at the swanky (and eco-friendly) NYC Hearst Tower.

The mezzanine was filled with magazine editors and influential philanthropists who sipped on cocktails, noshed on hors d’oeuvres and teared up while listening to heart-moving speeches. Whitney Smith, CEO of Girls For A Change, expressed how the important partnership with Sephora will allow “Girls For A Change to reach thousands who would otherwise not have the opportunity to learn how to create positive change in their communities and in their own lives.” Stephanie Ramirez, a 21-year-old runaway who found Girls For A Change six years ago, said, “Girls For A Change watched me make mistakes and guided me by teaching me how to use my voice.” Stephanie is currently studying computer science in college and also pays it forward by mentoring other girls who reach out to the organization by sharing her story and providing encouragement and support. What a beauty-full role-model!

In late September, The Sephora Project and Girls For A Change are teaming up for a national road tour that kicks off the week of September 22nd to inspire women with workshops, summits and rallies. In addition, Sephora has also created The Sephora Project tote bag available in September for $12 and 100% of the profits will be donated to Girls For A Change. Now, that’s what we call supporting girl power!
