Sneak peek: Cargo’s New PlantLove Cosmetics Collection

To think it all started with a tube of lipstick!

Cargo revolutionized eco-chic beauty when they launched PlantLove, the first-ever environmentally friendly lipstick. It's encased in a compostable tube made of corn and plantable (yes, plantable) outer packaging that grows wildflowers once moistened and emerged in soil.

Now, after a year and a half of celebrity and consumer fans craving more PlantLove, Cargo expanded to an entire cosmetic collection—free of parabens, phthalates, petro-chemicals, synthetic dyes and fragrances. Even better? Since there’s so much confusion out there in the world of “natural products,” PlantLove carries the ECOCERT label, which ensures consumers that their products, packaging and process meet the strictest standards for natural, organic and environmentally friendly content.

After trying the eye pencils and shadows at the NY editor event, I couldn’t get enough! The liners ($16) glide on lids so smoothly and the shadows are soft and natural with high payoff. For the office, my favorite shades are: Pelican (taupe with a metallic sheen), Bamboo (golden brown with just the right amount of shimmer) and Thyme (a toned-down green mixed with gold). For nights out, I’ll be sporting: Blue Jay (mix of teal and navy) and Ivy (a golden green). Another perk? Shadows can also be used wet by dampening a liner brush with a little water.

Other stars in the collection were the Earth, Wind and Fire Illuminators ($28 each, pictured above). They were the perfect combo of blush, bronzer and highlighter all in one!

The PlantLove collection will be launching at Sephora on September 15th, so let the countdown begin.

Very excited for these! love, love, love the original cargo eyeshadows (have for years) and love the eco-basis of the new ones.

I think the overall idea of corn packaging is really cool too....but I'm not a big fan of the print they use. just a minor quibble.

It's so encouraging to see more eco friendly and at the same time stylish cosmetics. I love that the packaging is compostable. Plantable? How cool!

I have recently come across, an become a huge fan of Verterra plates. They're made from fallen palm leaves, that would otherwise likely be burnt as agricultural waste. That's it. And oh, they look pretty sweet, too.

Somehow they're super tough, and I've been able to wash and reuse them multiple times. And I hear you can even bake with them. As far composting, they say they take 3 months in a home composting system. An eco slam dunk here, I'd say.

Here's a recent article I saw on them http://www.reallynatural.com/archives/product-review/biodegradable_verterra_dinnerw.php and their site www.verterra.com

I stumbled uopn this website, found this product called IHT 9 Intensive Hair Regrowth Shampoo. I researched over Internet about this shampoo and all its natural ingredients (its a 100% herbal shampoo) and then I decided to give a try. I have been using this shampoo for more than 2 months and I must tell you all that it has not only stopped hair loss but have actually stimulated very tiny hair growth at my balding forehead. I am so happy that I came across this wonderful product!
