My 48 hour motto: I only roll with the impossibly pretty, dahlings.
After hanging out with Josie Maran on Friday, my stop the following Saturday was Sephora in San Francisco, where ANTM was hosting an open casting call for future models.
One long line of gorgeous girls. Not pictured: Drooling men.
Here's how it worked: Would-be-models got in front of the camera, stated their name and stats, then strutted it up on the "catwalk" - aka the front window, in what was probably the best-looking (and perhaps only live) window display Sephora's had yet. Judges from ANTM will review the tapes, then pick contestants for next season's show.Super-savvy girls were taking advantage of location for fast touch-ups and pro advice. Makeup artists from Stila and Benefit, there giving free makeovers to Sephora shoppers, happily dished up a little pretty-talk. "The best thing you can do before stepping in front of a camera," says Benefit makeup artist Raul, "is give yourself a little bit of bronze coloring. You don't want to be too pink or too pale. I'm putting a swipe of Dallas on the cheeks of every girl who needs a quick color boost!"
About 130 girls stepped up to take a shot at becoming a contestant. You know what that means, America - there's a good chance I've seen your next top model. And brother is she a looker.
