THE LOOK: OMFG! What you probably didn’t know about Lorick is that this quirky classic clothing has a starring role on Gossip Girl, “acting” as Eleanor Waldorf’s fashion line and regularly worn on set by the show’s actresses (who showed up in full force to support designer Abigail Lorick). And, the looks in this presentation-style show varied as much as the Gossip Girl personalities, pairing goth Palmer Girls (a la Jenny in her rebellious stage) with Stepford wives (cough, Blair, cough) and Edwardian wood nymphs (Serena, on a good day). Standout trends included hot, flushed English rose cheeks, frosting-tone pastel purple lips, and icy-pale pink lips paired with blue shadow, for a very “ladies who lunch (on pills!) look. “My favorite feature was the white-lavender lips we created to channel a birthday party scene—they look like icing!” says makeup artist Nicole Potter. Her tip to get it: Mix together Make Up For Ever Flash Colors in White and lavender for the effect. For an icy pink look, they were also combining Flash Color in White with Fuchsia.
