What do our day spa habits say about us?

Maybe it's because I've been spending an embarrassing amount of time watching SATC DVDs (hey, all my friends are entrenched in fashion week-apalooza), but the other day "I got to wondering."

You see, I was doing the weekly man/ped and I got to noticing my fellow beauté devotees. Some were in eyes-closed-head-back-complete-relaxation mode; others were cell phone girls doing the manic texters thing (side note: Do you ever wonder what those convos consist of?). One client was even chatting with the technician.

Little ole moi was catching up on her lady mags. And then I thought—I'm usually so consumed by my reading material that I don't notice the fancy foot rub and I certainly don't notice my nail salon neighbors. So that must mean I'm overstressed and a typical New York working girl who uses her downtime to conduct some work/blog research, right?

How about you? What do you think your nail salon attitude says about you?

I talk to my technicians, I don't think I would feel comfortable having someone rub my feet without at least knowing them a little.
