Founder's Day Event: Day One

Last night I attended Day One of the Founder's Day event at Sephora University, where I got to meet:

Jean Ford from Benefit Cosmetics
Dany Sanz from MAKE UP FOR EVER
Jerrod Blandino from Too Faced Cosmetics
Lisa Price from Carol's Daughter
Oscar Blandi from Oscar Blandi

They shared the next big products they'd be releasing, and chatted with the audience before breaking into 5 themed lounges filled with goodie bags (check out Benefit's sea of pink treat bags!), snacks, champagne (see Jerrod sipping his on the far left in the pic?), makeovers, and individual time with brand founders. Whew!

I'll post more later, but here are just a few of the tricks I picked up:

From Jean Ford: "When you find a lipstick you love, buy 6 and store them in the freezer."

From Dany Sanz: If you love her made-for-hi-def HD foundation and powders, get ready for an HD concealer (in 10 shades!). And here's a fun fact: She started the first makeup school in Europe 25 years ago.

From Jerrod Blandino: Did you know he invented glitter makeup? It was almost by accident: Looking to create a super-glitzy shadow, he tossed real craft glitter into one of his black shadows. He loved the effect so much, he made glitter part of his permanent collection.

From Lisa Price:
How'd she get her company's name? Her mom was her first "product tester" back when she was cooking things up in her kitchen. People would comment on the wonderful scents and lotions, and be surprised that "Oh, Carol's daughter made that?" The rest is Lisa Price's herstory.

Oscar Blandi: Which do you love more, Oscar Blandi's hair products, or the scent of Oscar Blandi's hair products? He says there's nothing worse than smelling someone's product. His favorite thing? Getting a hint of a sweet, floral scent. He decided that even hair products should have a wonderful, sensual scent.

More later! Tonight I'm off to meet tarte, Korres, Cosmedicine and Fresh!

Hey, I recognize that room!
Would have loved to go, but it wasn't in the cards for me this time. Can't wait to hear about the next "class" at Sephora U.
