Project Runway makeup artist and Sephora blogger Nathan Johnson dished up a trick last week I can't believe I've never tried: lining around the eye with peach (not pink), eyeliner or shadow to instantly cover/mask/hide/banish red-rimmed eyes. Which have pretty much become my trademark look every sleep-deprived Monday.
This weekend at my Sephora store, I hit the jackpot: I found the perfect peachy-flesh-toned shadow from Urban Decay. Named (unappetizingly, if you want my opinion), ABC Gum, this shadow is a perfect match for fair to medium skintones. It's matte without a trace of shimmer, but is heavy enough to cancel out even a morning after Saturday night red eye.
This little trick worked so well when I tried it on in the store, my shopping buddy took one look at me and immediately picked up one for herself. "Here's to Monday," we said as we clinked champagne cocktails later that afternoon. After all, now no one needs to know we stay up too late on a school night.

Jenny,
I am so happy that it worked for you.
Ladies, remember, when you want to get the benefit of sleep in a pencil, be sure to cover all the pink/red on the inner rim. If you add proper under eye concealing into the mix, everyone will think you hit the hay at 7 every night. Perfect, right?
