Spring 2009 Beauty Trends: Backstage at Elmer Avenue

BEAUTY BOTTOM LINE: Funky, futuristic, and fierce. An edgy cat eye with a dark-purple pout.

THE LOOK: With 28 models (male and female) strutting in their spring line, Elmer Avenue featured multiple looks that spanned multiple eras, my favorite of which was their futuristic "2000s" look a handful of women modeled on the runway. Silver lids were hardened with "neat Amy Winehouse liner," as lead makeup artist Lori Taylor called it, and faux lashes. The shimmering lids and iridescent cheeks were anchored by a dark, ominously sexy purple lip. Spring fashion forecast: The future's so bright, you gotta wear (gorgeous grape) shades.
