Q: Can Pink Lips Work For Dark Skin?

As you know, we love bubblegum pink lips right now. But one of our readers wanted to know: Does this look work for brown skin?

We got right on the case and asked Sara, a Sephora Pro Beauty Team member, how to pull off pink lips:

"All skin types can pull off the Barbie bubblegum pink lips! For darker skin, you want to apply a dark pink lipstick, and then finish it off with a brighter pink gloss. Or, do the opposite: apply a lighter shade lipstick and finish with a dark but bright-toned gloss. It’s all about even tones.

Try Funny Face or Kiss by Nars, YSL Golden Berry, or MAKE UP FOR EVER's full color collection. Look for bright shades in pink, orange and red - they're great for darker skin tones."

Why are you liking bubble gum pink lips now? I can't see how it would be a good look.

I agree - doesn't sound right for Fall.

Nothing wrong with bucking a trend or two. I think it would be nice to see a pop of pink every now and then. Regardless of the season.

It's fall??!! Sorry, I totally forgot since it's been over 80 in SF. :) I agree with Tiffany - it's fun to pop out some pink when it's dreary outside.
