Last week I had the pinch-me-I'm-dreaming pleasure of attending Sephora's Founder's Day event, which gave me two days of access to brand founders like Jean Ford, Oscar Blandi, and Lena Korres. In between testing out new beauty products and getting makeovers, I picked up a few secrets to share.
Jean started Benefit Cosmetics with her twin sister Jane. Everybody knows that. But do you know what Jean's best beauty secret is? "Give a girl a compliment. It'll perk up her whole visage."
That, and if you don't have time for anything else: "Wear lipstick! Always. Our most popular lipstick color is Lady's Choice. It's a universal shade that goes with browns, blacks, taupes, even gray."
She also treated me to a sneak peek of a product so new it hasn't even launched yet. Love Benefit's boxed blushes? Then you're going to go nuts for Coralista. It's a coral-colored hue she calls, "The candy color."
Coral-y!Mermaids! Makeovers! Mojitos!

Love that sailor man!
Oh my gosh, that's so lucky for you! What was in the goodybags ?
Full-sized tubes of Her Glossiness lip gloss in two colors, "That Gal" cheek color, brow pencils, plus invitations for free brow shaping at Benefit's two brow bars in San Francisco. Plus! You could "fish" from the makeup pond a often as you liked (provided you didn't get too distracted by the sailors!
P.S. ALL the lounges at the Founder's Day event had neat stuff like this - MAKE UP FOR EVER gave away false eyelashes (and you could have them applied by a pro on the spot, too!)
So thats what the one girl from the Benefit halloween costume post was that I couldn't figure out! She was Coralista! I thought I knew my Benefit products too well to miss even one.

I like the idea of "Fishin' For Compliments", they got loads of products and I envy you for being there and have the chance to have some of it.
