Somewhere in the transition from watching mom put on her makeup to taking a stab at putting slap on my own face, I picked up the idea that matching your lipstick to your nail polish is Fancy. But it's Fancy in an "I attend fussy debutante balls" or "I would not seriously wear white after Labor Day" kind of way.
Still, I like the idea of having a "dress up" version of makeup, so I'm updating the matchy-matchy hookup: Instead of nails and lips, I matched my nails and eyeliner.
