Complete this sentence:
"I'm not a believer in plastic surgery, but if I opted for it, I'd get _________."
a) liposuction
b) a tummy tuck
c) collagen injections
d) a cankle lipo
Yes, cankle lipo. BeautyBlitz reports the rise of a whole new set of plastic surgery procedures that add a new level of cosmetic paranoia to our lexicon. Example: Surgical shortening of the second toe, commonly referred to as "raptor toe," to prevent long second toes from hanging over the edge of an open-toe pump. Or, especially now that it's swimsuit season, belly button makeovers.
To quote the nefarious (but observant) Mugatu, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Who's signing up for this?

These days newer improvements as well as experimentations in the plastic surgery field creep me out. I am all for people trying to enhance their features for the better. But seriously? Second toes and belly buttons? I think it's important to think discretion before we give ourselves over to be turned into a Stafford Wife.

Belly button makeovers? haha for real? people must be perfectionists to go for that small detail.

does the lemon juice and conditioner really lighten your hair? I'm a brunette its actually pretty golden red so it looks like in the sun, but how light would it look if i did this? do you wash it out afterward?
@ Sarah: I think you meant Stepford Wife.
I have raptor toe and I didn't even know the condition has a name. There is no way that I would have a toe operation, though.
raptor toe!? i've never heard of that. i thought a longer second toe meant intelligence.
i have a messed up belly button from a surgery... but i still understand why people think this is icky.
I think when plastic surgery is done to help improve self esteem, it is okay. I do think people go way to far though. But to correct a deformity that makes one self conscious, I think it is okay.
I can't help but think of people with Body Dismorphic Disorder that get surgery to correct their 'flaws' only to keep getting surgery because they are convinced the surgery didn't work or made it worse. That or surgeries that actually went wrong...
Wow. Those go on really, really nicely. And they're aren't too expensive either =) I definitely need new nail polish, I'll have to look into this.
