FOS: Holiday Wish List

There are some women who are lucky enough to play with beauty products all day and get paid for it. One of them is Abby Gardner, editor at Fashionista.com and an amazing FOS (Friend of Sephora). We asked her about her career, her love of beauty, and what she wants this holiday season:
B&TB: How did you get started in the beauty business?
Abby: My first job in the industry was at Jane magazine, close to when it launched. I eventually became associate beauty editor there before moving to Allure as a staff writer. After that, I was the beauty director of YM for over three years.
B&TB: Can you tell us about Fashionista.com?
Abby: Fashionista is a daily fashion news site covering everything from models, runway collections, industry news and events, and of course beauty too.
B&TB: What is the best advice you’ve ever heard?
Abby: Use eye cream, and start young. You have no idea how much this helps once you do start to age!
B&TB: What are your top three products?
Abby: Tarte Cheek Stain in Flush ($30) I’ve had this product in my makeup bag since the line first launched. It gives a perfect glow, no brushes required.
By Terry Light Expert ($48) From the woman who first brought us Touche Eclat, this is literally the perfect wake and go product to make your skin look glowy and radiant. Again no brushes (do you see a trend here?)
DDF Sunscreens ($32-$42) Even if I wasn't a pale Irish redhead, sunscreen would always be a priority. And I love that DDF never irritates my skin.
B&TB: What two products are you coveting this Christmas?
Abby: I can never have too many candles and I love love love the ones from Pacifica (plus they’re natural). Also I wouldn’t mind if someone bought me a whole bunch of ck Calvin Klein makeup. It’s simple and gorgeous, just like the clothes.
B&TB: What non-beauty gift do you want this season?
Abby: A pair of Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte thigh high boots would be amazing.
