I just cut layers in my once all-one-length hair, and its definitely going to take some getting used to. When it was all one length, I could get away with not using product, but now I am literally searching the house for hair gel to bring out the style more. Ahh, hair gel. Reminds me of the 80s. Come to think of it, I don't think i've even used hair gel since the 80s! My hairdresser says a good combination is a mix of hair gel (medium hold), and leave in conditioner for a structured feel that you can still run your hands through. Fortunately, I do have a bottle of HerCut's Bob Catalyst for some control. The gel/creme combo works perfectly. I really want to try Korres' Lime Style Gel, too. Oh well, it'll be fun experimenting. Anyone got a layered lob out there? What do you use? Help! -Joannie McIntyre

i like Federic Fekkai's Coiff Bouffant Lifting and Texturizing Spray Gel. it's light but still gives some hold for those layers and doesn't weigh down the hair at the end of the day! smells great too! =)

Loved your blog. Readers might also be interested in another article I found, about beauty and dry eyes. It can be found here at this website:

Thanks jeansco_84! I will check it out. I am realizing that the layers really make it so much easier to style. This Fekkai stuff you mention sounds nice and light. Can't wait to try! -j
