SHOW: Brian Reyes
MAKEUP: Nicolas Degennes for Givenchy
MODEL: Yana, DNA
BEAUTY BOTTOM-LINE: Beige makeup that's not plain-ol'-beige
THE LOOK: The main focus was to increase the look of the eyes. When Nicolas Degennes spoke with designer Brian Reyes, he mentioned a marbleized fabric, which Nicolas used for his inspiration. He started by rimming the inner eyes a really dark black kajal pencil and at the outer corners, worked with brown, black and khaki shadows. “It’s a mix of three or four colors to get that marble effect on the eyes,” explained Nicolas. Skin was kept natural and clean with a light dust of powder on the t-zone and a touch of shine on the cheek. Lips were a rosy beige, but more on the beige side than pink.
GET IT: Givenchy Le Makeup Collection PhotoPerfexion Fluid Foundation, $42. (NEW! Will launch in April 2009). Givenchy Subli'Mine Fluid Foundation, $40. Givenchy Prisme Again! Blush in Smiling Brown, $40. Givenchy Magic Kajal Intense Eye Pencil, $21.50.Givenchy Shadow Show in Must-Have Beige and Trendy Kaki, $23 each. Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Mascara, $28.

Normally I'm all about beauty! beauty! beauty! but occasionally, crimes happen elsewhere in couture in that warrant special attention. Like hammer pants. Or fanny packs. Or...and I can't believe I'm typing this, let alone looking at it, but CARDISHORTS.
Yes, makeup has pulled a few shame stunts of its own - frosted anything, the whole dark lipliner+gloss thing, and every girl who ever fell for the empty promises of contouring - but at least our bad trends don't look like they could be accessorized with a diaper bag and footie jammies.
Tell me: Are we banning this, or
Thanks, I think, to fashionindie for finding this.
Be honest: Who wouldn’t like to feel as mysterious and rare as a black diamond, and totally worthy of luxurious hidden treasures? Umm, hello- Sign. Me. Up. Luckily, Givenchy did some deep-sea treasure hunting and found a black algae that holds the secret to youthful skin.
So here we go: Le Soin Noir contains an original ingredient, Vital Black Algae Sap Concentrate, which, unlike green algae, has never left the sea. This powerful natural ingredient rebuilds cells using precious black molecules rich in vital fatty acids that restore, restructure, and revitalize skin.
This powerful potion’s intense dark color matches the cream’s richness; it literally is a black cream that melted into my skin and became delicately transparent—an invisible barrier protecting from environmental and internal assaults. At $360, it's def. luxe...with just a pearl-sized drop needed, Le Soin Noir stretches its use up to three months and proves to be a great price for a satisfying product.
My skin no longer feels like a diamond in the rough, but radiant and glowing, firm and even-toned, with fewer noticeable lines. We found a treasure map to help guide you towards destination youth in under 30 days— it starts here.
Move it, Brangelina. Hot pink and coral are the new It Couple of the season.
This spring, sweeten up your eyes with vivid shades of tangerine and bubblegum. When layered and blended, the bright hues smolder like an exotic sunset on your lids. To give your gazers extra glowing power, apply an eye primer before your sweep on the shadows—the color enhancement will make your look even more crave-able.

Hi everyone! Here's the final post with pictures of your suggestions (please excuse the unflattering angles of the three self-portraits!). Even though I had diligently tried on every recommended shade, I ultimately narrowed it down to five final choices.
As a side note, I just wanted to thank everyone at the Lexington/57th Street and Fifth Avenue stores. When I went in there to try on your shades (it took a few visits), no one questioned me once why I was madly applying and removing over 20 lip colors (except for one client who, after a few minutes of watching me try on different shades and taking self-photographs, commented, “You are just so in love with yourself, aren't you?”). The Sephora cast members only smiled at me, occasionally asking if I needed help. So I was glad to learn that Sephora is a safe place to go when you need time and space to play with makeup options.
Please vote for your favorite lip color, and feel free to go back to earlier posts. Voting will end Sunday night. Remember to include a way to contact you because two winners will get the everyday lip color I ultimately choose. If you forgot to do so in a previous entry, just go back and repost with your info. Thanks so much for all your participation and fun suggestions!
Lancôme La Laque Fever—Ultimate Lasting Full Color Lipshine in Plum Savvy ($26): The texture felt great, and the color had a nice soft hue.
Dior Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect in Chiffon Beige 227 ($25.50): Although it looks little similar to the Lancôme one, it was glossier and had bit of a pinkish copper cast.
Benefit Full-Finish Lipstick in La La Land ($18): I liked the way this shade seemed to warm up my complexion.

Selene's not the only one who loves a big kisser...
Jane Austen's era may have inspired biting your lips and pinching your cheeks to acquire an attractive rosy blush (Proper to be done only behind closed doors because your blushing hue and plump lips is au natural of course).
But bite no more.
DuWop's Lip Venom has a spicy, tingly blend of essential oils including cinnamon and ginger that enhances the natural color and shape of your lips by increasing circulation. I loved how my lips had a natural, fuller, just-bitten appeal to it. It def made me feel like a certain pouty Silver Screen Siren.
We’ve seen her looks in films range from glam and sleek on the Titanic to glowing and fresh in Jane Austen society. And on Sunday, everyone took notice of her even before she won her Academy Award. (Of course, you know whom we're talking about—but if you don't, click here!) To complement her striking one-shoulder dress from Yves Saint Laurent, this Lancôme ambassador kept her makeup classic and natural. Want to get the look?
First, prep complexion with Lancôme La Base Pro Primer ($42) to create a perfect base for smooth-looking makeup. Next, use Lancôme Modèle Sourcil-Brow Groomer in Naturel ($21) to enhance brows for a naturally groomed effect. For the eyes, brush lids with Lancôme Color Design-Sensational Effects Eye Shadow in Impress ($16.50) and coat lashes with Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara ($34), which vibrates to extend fringes to movie-star lengths. Finally, on the lips, slick on Lancôme Color Fever Shine Lipstick in Old Flame ($25).
Excited about the look, aren’t you? Well, we’ll do one better. Thanks to Lancôme, three lucky winners will receive each of the above products ($138.50 value!) to re-create their own "Best Actress" looks at home. Just tell us what your Oscar red carpet persona would be and why. Are you a classic beauty or sultry siren? Flirty femme fatale or winsome star-next-door?
Write your response in the comments section, and don't forget to leave a way to contact you!

Bare Escentuals certainly kicked off the launch of Buxom Lash Mascara with their troop of Burlesque Beauties. These ladies shimmied their way through Manhattan, starting on Friday, when commuters at the Grand Central Vanderbilt Taxi Stand got a first look at their moves. On Saturday, they gave more live performances outside the Sephora Times Square store, while Bare Escentuals provided their famous "make-unders" in store.
Replicate your own "make-under" at home!
Face: bareVitamins Prime Time Foundation Primer for long coverage, bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation, bareMinerals Multi-Task Face to conceal imperfections, bareMinerals Faux Tan All-Over Face Color for a nice glow, bareMinerals Blush in Laughter on cheeks, and Mineral Veil to finish.
Eyes: bareVitamins Prime Time Eyelid Primer to keep shadow in place, bareMinerals Glimmer in 2000 for lids, bareMinerals Eyecolor in Skyline for the crease, bareMinerals Eyecolor in Soul to highlight brows, bareMinerals Liner Shadow in Soft Black, bareMinerals Brow Color, and of course Buxom Lash Mascara!
Lips: bareMinerals 100% Natural Lipcolor in Red Delicious for color, then Big & Healthy Buxom Lip Polish in Candy to add shine.
And as all you Bare Escentuals fans know, the right tool is essential for every step of the way!
Phew! Now that Fashion Week is over, it's time to sort through all the trends and decide which looks are keepers, which are copiers, and which are just going to get filed under, "Bad jokes played on innocent models."

Selene, "the Eye of the Night" is the cousin of Zeus, daughter of Hyperion and Theia, and sister of Helios (the sun) and Eos (the dawn). She's the goddess of the moon, months, and madness. Dutiful yet playful, lovely yet distant—Selene takes her task of illuminating the night sky in her winged-horse-drawn chariot seriously while observing the nocturnal doings of all below.
Luminous and ethereal, and perhaps the most beautiful non-Olympian goddess, Selene's sacred symbols include winged steeds, bull horns (which turn up like a crescent moon), and the moon itself. With the following Selene-approved products, you'll be a rare, luminous, gem in the night.
Hanae Mori Magical Moon
When the witch Medea became heartbroken over Jason, Selene mocked the girl's heartache out of anger that Medea had so often hidden the moon from view in order to perform magic in secret. Still Selene was evoked often in mystical rites and was no stranger to magic. Smell magic in the air with Horae Mori's Magical Moon fragrance, which contains florals harvested according to the ancient lunar calendar and bottled under a full moon.
Shiseido The Makeup Silky Eye Shadow Quad in Lunar Phases
The ancient Greek calendar was based on lunar cycles and each cycle was based on the phases of the moon. Often seen as wearing a glowing golden crown in the shape of bull horns, each month Selene would rekindle the horns' light by capturing the rays of the sun (her brother Helios). With Shiseido's Eye Shadow Quad in Lunar Phases, you can get a look to match each phase of the moon.
Benefit Moon Beam
Seen by the ancients as a great beauty from whom golden and silver light glistened, all enveloped within her light were thought of as blessed. You too can have Selene's golden complexion with Benefit's Moon Beam face highlighter. It will give your face that moon-goddess glow.

Last week, we stopped by the Nintendo DS Spa at the Bryant Park Hotel, an oasis for breaks between shows. Celebs, editors, and other VIPs were able to relax while playing with the latest Nintendo DS games. A stylish rep from Owl’s Lab, a contemporary boutique in Manhattan, brought along a selection of hip wears and fashion goodies for guests. And of course, Sephora Pro Beauty Team Members were available all day to lend their expert hands for touch-ups, manicures, and blowouts.
Forget about just a break between shows—next time, we're reserving a full day.

SHOW: Proenza Schouler
HAIR: Didier Malige for Frederic Fekkai
MODEL: Siri, Trump
BEAUTY BOTTOM-LINE: Low, mess ponytail.
THE LOOK: Fekkai's lead stylist Didier Malige created a tousled, low ponytail for Proenza—a look that was "boyish with a hint of femininity," as he put it. But, be warned, this is not your average, toss-it-up-and-go variety. Malige first added texture to the hair with a lightweight wave spray (applied to dry hair, preferably), and then spritzed those waves with a texturizing gel for even more texture and lift. The big key is volume though, so Malige teased the hair at the crown of the head before pulling it into a low pony. A quick touch-up with non-sticky hairspray, and it's done!
GET IT: Fekkai Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray, Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel, Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray.

SHOW: United Bamboo
MAKEUP: Dick Page for Shiseido
MODEL: Elyana, Supreme
BEAUTY BOTTOM-LINE: Smoldering eyes, pink lips, structured brows.
THE LOOK: Tweed bomber jackets, suede heels and a black-ribbon cocktail dress ... United Bamboo's collection called for equally sassy-sweet makeup this season. Enter Shiseido's creative director Dick Page, who donned his models in smudgy black liner, soft-pink lips, and strong brows with a lot of depth. "I wanted just a splash of pretty color on the lips, with rich color in the eyebrows. But not too much, or it starts to look a little cartoony. There's nothing worse," he said. Page filled eyebrows in with an eyeliner pencil--the color depending on the model's natural hair color, of course--then moved onto eyes. He lined the entire eye, smudging it out and adding light powder on top, in what he deemed the "halo effect" due to the heavier brows on top. A touch of pink lipstick to the lips, a sweep of black mascara, and presto. Straight to the runway!
GET IT: Shiseido The Makeup Eyebrow Pencil, Shiseido The Makeup Luminizing Satin Eye Color in Kombu, Shiseido The Makeup Perfect Mascara in Black, Shiseido The Makeup Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil in Black, Shiseido The Makeup Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Almond Pink-- all new products launch August 2009 at Sephora.
