How Makeup Can Make You Lose Weight. Yes, Really.

Dieting is bor-ring when your mouth knows what it's missing out on. So trick your senses into thinking you had a yummy snack: By taking three whiffs of peppermint, green apple, or banana scents, you can quell candy urges and snack attacks.

Get your apple and mint fix with Demeter's purse-sized mini spritzes:

Jolly Rancher New Green Apple, $20

And for your banana fix, pick up Comptoir Sud's Pacifique Vanille Banane spray, $53

Nude Lip Picks For Gold & Yellow Skin Tones

Things every girl should have: A hidden supply of chocolate, killer black heels, a pair of Spanx, and an all-purpose nude lipstick.

However, it's a universal fact that 97% of all nude lipsticks are made for those with fair or rosy skin. If you've got so much yellow or gold in your skintone (I do) that you'd never in your life be mistaken for a rosy-cheeked type (I haven't), finding the right nude is impossible. Unless you know Jerry Hutchinson, Sephora Pro Beauty Team member (I do).

His nude lip picks for the golden-skinned girls:

MAKE UP FOR EVER in Sepia 501

Laura Mercier Lip Color Shimmer in Passion Fruit

Laura Mercier Lip Stain in Peach Glaze

Pro tip: Try Jerry's DIY nude lip trick that neutralizes discoloration: Mix a little concealer with a little clear gloss. It won't look as harsh (or as dry!) as plain concealer alone.

It's (Finally) Here: Philosophy's Eye Hope Cream

Here's lookin' at you, fluid retention, dark circles, and fine lines.

Because in 6 weeks, I won't be seeing you around my orbitals anymore.

Philosophy's long-awaited/eagerly anticipated Eye Hope Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream is FINALLY here <insert joyful cheering sounds here>.

This dream cream bumps up elasticity and firmness around the eyes with potent youth-boosting actions: It seriously hydrates the delicate skin around your peepers, anti-inflammatories like green tea and coffee bean extract calm and soothe, and light diffusing properties help brighten skin tone.

If that weren't enough, glucosyl hesperidin targets dark circles and puffiness; collagen enhancers and vitamins c and e blast away fine lines, and nature's best moisturizer, hyaluronic acid, plumps up skin.

So it's not a surprise that when gaze testers tried this, 4 out of 5 saw significant improvement in fine lines, dark circles, puffiness and smoothness in just 6 weeks:

• 83% of participants showed improvement in fine lines
• 95% of participants showed improvement in dark circles
• 85% of participants showed improvement in puffiness
• 98% of participants showed improvement in smoothness
eye

Eye Hope? Maybe Philosophy should have named it Eye Will.

How Do You Know If Your Pants Are Too Tight?

Last week I tweeted about a horrifying new trend: Jeggins. That's jeggings as in jeans + leggings, which equal pants that easily turn the phrase sausage casing into a verb that describes what happens to every joint south of your belly button.

Now I've got proof that this trend is a bad idea: Turns out, corking yourself into too-tight pants puts you at risk for suffering from a nerve problem called meralgia paresthetica. That tingling in your thighs? It's your nerves crying out for breathing room.

There's no permanent damage, but come on...pants that literally get on your nerves? Skipping!

To Dye For: We put Frederic Fekkai's Salon Color Kit To The Test!

"I Dye'd It Myself!"

With the economy in the tank, getting to the salon for what used to be "regular" hair color visits has turned into a downright luxury reserved only for special occasions. Enter Frederic Fekkai's professional quality DIY hair color in a box. You've seen it all over our site, and let me tell you, this stuff is definitely NOT your average boxed haircolor. The part I loved is that it comes with a special "pre-treatment" that makes the color set evenly and last longer - not something you'll find in your average drugstore boxed hair color. LOVE IT! (Of course, the bowl and brush is pretty cool, too). Ok, so enough about what's in it, I put Fekkai's Salon Color to the test. Here are the Before & After pics taken within 45 minutes of each other. As a natural dark brunette, my hair totally pulls red when I lighten it (annoying) and after using Fekkai Salon Color in 5N, it turned my amber strands to gorgeous, golden brown highlights - just what I wanted. Amazing. And it definitely beats blowing $85 bucks plus tip at the salon! I am SO buying this again.
-Joannie McIntyre, Brand Page Beauty Writer

P.S. For a layout of all the colors in one spot, check out the Salon Color page to see all the shades next to each other. I was told to go just two shades within my natural shade range, and this page let's you compare in a cinch. Let us know how your Salon Color results came out, and if you're brave like me, send pics to joannie.mcintyre@sephora.com. Whoever sends the best "Before and After" pics gets a box of Salon Color on us, and we'll post your results on our blog. Go!

Product Patrol: This Week's Hottest Launches

Tarte MultiplEYE Lash Enhancer and Lights, Camera, Lashes! Natural Mascara Set: Those lazy lashes won't stand a chance against this power duo: a fortifying lash enhancer and a best-selling plumping mascara. Plus, with this mascara's precise brush, it's able to grip hairs at the root and pull them into a soft bend—forcing them to get off their lashes and work it.

Thierry Mugler AMEN Pure Malt: This fragrance stares at you from across the speakeasy with come-hither eyes. Then, in one swift motion, it takes a final swill of its Scotch, saunters over to your table, and asks for a light. And as it draws near, spurring that familiar flutter, you get a whispering whiff of its scent—smoky and sensual, woody yet sophisticated.

Kat Von D Angeleno Case: The black and white exterior design is Ms. Von D's hand-sketched interpretation of beauty—raw, romantic, and tragic. Inside this glamorous kit, you'll find soft, ruby-red lining with compartments and built-in pouches.

Philosophy Advanced Makeup Optional® Skin: The foundation of a clean, crisp, summah-lovin' look is complexion perfection. It's hard to keep it in check once the elements start wreaking havoc on your skin, but this all-star cast has it covered by reducing signs of aging, refining skintone and texture, and restoring a bright, youthful luminosity.

Sephora Brand Large Rolling Traincase: This trains case means biz-ness. (Literally, the sleek design and ample size made me think it was a carry-all briefcase at first glance.) Sporting snap closures, multiple compartments, and four-tier foldout trays with subdivided sections, even the most avid product hoarder can get some organization.
