For several months now, our Associate Product Producer Tara Billinger has been spearheading Eyeshadow Thursdays at the Sephora offices in San Francisco. Experimenting with vivid colors is highly encouraged, and it's a great way for all of us to exchange tips on different eye looks, or show off whatever new eye makeup we've bought (Tara admits to spending most of her paycheck on beauty, just like the rest of us around here). Yesterday, we shot a photo of her gorgeous look, an everyday wear version of a past catalog shoot (see pic above) using orange and purple/berry-hued shadows. She says her secret is blending well along the crease with her beloved Smashbox Definer Brush in #15, and using the purple shade just on the outer corners. Here's what she used to get this truly wearable look:
Brows:
Anastasia Brow Ex-press in Brunette
Eyes:
Make Up For Ever Eye Shadows in Tangerine 18, Pearly Rosewood 132 (berry rose sheen), and Black 4 (applied in the outside corners, just a little)
Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in RansomThe gold shade from the Anastasia Brow Ex-press kit was applied on the brow bones
Lashes:
Urban Decay Lash Primer Potion
Thanks for sharing the tip on how to get your look, Tara. It looks amazing. Can't wait to reconvene again at the next Eyeshadow Thursday! And to all you beauty addicts out there, we hope this inspires you to start an Eyeshadow Thursday of your own at your office, or even better, maybe it can be a national beauty holiday! Ok, maybe that's over-shooting it a bit, but hey - a girl can dream.
