Sephora and Rebuilding Together's Big Dig

BATB is spotlighting Sephora Project Manager Aimee Ninan, a glamorous gardener who is equally dexterous at whirling an augur as she is a mascara wand.

For the last two weekends, Aimee has led a group of Sephora volunteers to San Francisco’s McKinley Elementary School, working alongside Rebuilding Together, an organization that renovates community sites. Aimee and team have been leveling the school’s grounds (not a small feat considering that the city is known for being hilly) to prepare the school for an organic garden and rainwater catchment system.

Besides digging, they’ve been building retaining walls and benches (very rustic chic!). Come September, the space will be ready for McKinley’s students to plant a garden of their own and in the process learn to care for the environment and beautify their school. We're beaming with pride already.
