Tell us your favorite Sephora story:
My favorite memory of Sephora is going to the store, trying to be incognito, and asking the beauty experts about my products. To hear them be so passionate about them without knowing it was me was very rewarding.

Agree with DMC
i love dr. brandt! he was one of the first mds i ever interviewed for a skin story. he's so super nice!!
Wow. Way to clean house there. Four people (three other people and me) mention we will not buy this man's products because he clearly has no faith in them himself, and what do you do? Delete the comments (except the second one, who was merely agreeing with me) and post a rah! rah! comment?
I don't care if he's nice, Jenna. I'm sure he is nice. I do care that the FOUNDER of a BRAND cannot stand behind his own philosophies about natural beauty. A skin care line whose founder turns to plastic surgery is akin to a personal trainer who gets liposuction or a dietician who starves themselves.
If Sephora is unable to accept critical comments on this site, then don't allow comments.
Nicely said, DMC, though I wonder how long your latest post will last. It's not like our opinions were unsubstantiated or irrational. They were just honest. We weren't trying to be nasty.
There's a difference between "critical" and just plain mean. You are mean-spirited. If you don't like the way someone looks, keep it to yourself. If you like products, then share how you feel about those! This is a beauty blog, afterall - not somewhere you can write useless negative comments that do nothing but feed more negativity from others.
Hi commenters,
The negative comments were removed due to their mean nature. We do not support this kind of behavior and have the right to remove any bad-mouthing we feel is unwarranted. Our Sephora.com guidelines hold true here on the blog, which state: We reserve the right not to post your review or to withdraw any posted review for any reason. Your review will be excluded if it violates review guidelines or contains any of the following types of content:
* Obscenities, discriminatory language, or other language not suitable for a public forum
* Critical comments about other comments posted on the page or their authors.
If we see any of the above, we will exercise our right to edit or remove any post that violates these guidelines.
Please keep your comments positive and helpful and help us share the beauty love! Thanks!
I didn't write a "mean" comment, I wrote an honest comment. It's not mean to expect that brand founders practice what they preach. I wouldn't come on here and say he's fat/short/skinny/purple-spotted, so I won't buy his products; it's unrelated to their effectiveness. But when the brand founder has had obvious plastic surgery, it's not a very good endorsement for his products, no? A picture was worth 1,000 words in this article.
So dont buy it and keep quiet! I for one can say I love his line of pores no more products. it has nothing to do with how he looks. nothing has ever been stated about him haivn plastic surgery.
if you don't know what you're talking about, stop talking.
It sounds to me like DMC knows exactly what he or she is talking about.
This exchange just got mentioned on Jezebel.com (where the moderators are able to handle constructive criticism).
I like some of Dr Brandt's products. But I agree that his appearance is clearly not due to using them - and he has been VERY open about his use of Botox in many, many older interviews I've read. He used to be known for his thriving injectible practices, in at least 2 cities, and for bragging about how much Botox and other injectibles he used on his clients and himself. Now that he has a very successful line of products, the injectibles use is rarely mentioned. But it's clearly still going on!
Sephora choosing to disallow this discussion isn't surprising. The company IS, after all, shilling these products. However, people who read blogs expect to be able to leave both critical and supportive comments on a post. I guess a corporate entity isn't used to this commonly held belief about blogging, sees it as merely another sales tool, and feels that censorship is OK. Boo!
Well when he is paying for the blog post of course people are there to defend him. Buy Boy looks like one of the dolls from Team America. He has has surgery.
