Introducing: KeratinPerfect

A revolutionary new hair brand is breaking the mold for at-home haircare. As a convenient alternative to salon treatments, KeratinPerfect delivers keratin to your hair, leaving it noticeably softer and smoother. Keratin is a natural protein found in skin, hair, and nails, although KP gets theirs from sheep’s wool, which is noted for having the highest grade of keratin possible.

Using a unique blend of ingredients, KeratinPerfect has performed countless tests to ensure their formulas fall in line with chemical and cosmetic guidelines. Once they get ahold of the natural keratin, they combine it with a special ReBonding Technology so that the protein will bond with any damaged areas. The outcome: shiny, smooth, and frizz-free hair. Though these formulas are made to offer superior straightening and smoothing benefits, results may vary for those with more coarse or textured hair. Lucky for us, their hair-smoothing treatment is safe to use as often as every two weeks.

Still have questions? Read below for some frequently asked questions and learn about the benefits of KeratinPerfect, available exclusively at Sephora.

Can I use shampoo and conditioner after the treatment?
No, it’s important to use specially formulated products, such as the PerfectCleanse Keratin Enhanced Shampoo and PerfectSilk Keratin Enhanced Conditioner. These special formulas will replenish keratin levels. They’re free of sodium chloride and sulfates to maintain smoothness and shine. Non-keratin formulas may strip the treatment from your hair and reduce results.

What if my hair is colored?
No problem. KeratinPerfect suggests you apply highlights before the treatment. This will help the color stay longer and look more vibrant.

How long until I see results?
You’ll notice a difference in your hair’s texture and appearance after using the blow dry and flat iron during ThePerfector application process of the KeratinPerfect set.

What daily tools should I use to style?
KeratinPerfect recommends using a ceramic or ionic dryer and 380-450° flat iron for styling. Their own titanium flat irons are specially designed to straighten and smooth without damaging hair.

How much product should I use?
It’s important not to over saturate your hair. Applying too much will make hair greasy and heavy. If you have short, chin-length hair, use 1-1.5 oz. If you have shoulder-length hair, use 1.5-2 oz. And if you have long or very coarse hair, use 2-2.5 oz.

Is this comparable to a Brazillian Blowout in a salon? Also is it safe for pregnant/ nursing women?

personally i feel like it's a lot more steps and work than it's worth (I guess I'd rather pay someone else to do it)...but then again, i hate to even straighten my hair...

that being said, I think it's fantastic that someone is bringing something like this to be more consumer friendly and DIY :)

Previously, I attended the Premier Beauty Show in Orlando, Florida. I had a lot of fun seeing the latest haircutting techniques and the new products on the market. I became intrigued with the Natura Organic Hair Treatment Line and saw the benefits for many clients with frizzy, difficult to manage hair. After watching several demonstrations out on the main floor of the show, I enrolled in a class to become certified in the application of Natura Organic Hair Care System. Natura Keratin uses a unique, patented, organic form of keratin. Natura Keratins hair smoothing treatment comes in several formulas, depending on hair texture, curl and desired result. Natura Keratin has a formaldehyde-free hair smoothing formula for wavy hair, producing frizz free results that keep the wave or curl. Another formula is for heavy curls which removes frizz and creates a sleeker look. If your hair is extra coarse and curly and resistant, you may want to use the strongest formula available. Your stylist will be able to help you decide which formula is right for you. All formulas penetrates into the cuticle layer of the hair to replace protein that is needed to make the hair shiny, smooth and frizz free. Natura Organic Hair Care System leaves the hair more manageable and cuts down on the time needed to blow dry and flat iron frizzy, unruly hair. In most cases it will cut styling time at least by half. The Natura Organic Hair Care System requires the use of specified shampoo and conditioner to retain the effects of the keratin in the hair for as long as possible. The treatment will last up to 5 months in the hair depending on texture and condition of hair. The treatment is best administered directly after color processing when the cuticle is open, otherwise a two week waiting period is recommended for keratin application. A 72 hour waiting period before shampooing is necessary for keratin to be set in the hair. During this time leaving your hair down straight refraining from the use of any hair restraints is necessary. If the hair accidentally gets wet in the 72 hour waiting period, flat iron the hair out as soon as possible. The treatment cost normally an average of about 200 dollars here in South Florida depending on thickness and length of hair.
