Lots of pool time swimming laps leaves my hair tangled and with a mind of its own. My hair likes to take a summer vacation off and away from my head it seems.
Lots of time outdoors - not good for my color treated hair!
Our hair is affected as our skin from UV rays affect melanin clarify, that ultraviolet rays can penetrate the hair shaft and disperse melanite that gives hair its color, and the breeze that also of our skin dry hair also suffers from the same problems headphones in a twist, are knots and splits, the tips dry out and open so we should protect them when we expose to the sun
I perspire and I have to wash my hair more frequently. My hair is long and thick so I cannot go without drying it. Thus, I apply much more heat to my hair.

I've been transitioning back to natural hair for over a year and with a few inches here and there of relaxed ends, I'm almost natural! So wearing my hair curly does make it prone to frizz, especially if I'm near the ocean! I have to make an effort to keep it moisturized daily!
On the positive side, my hair gets lightened and develops natural highlights, which give it a lot more depth and visual interest. It's a pretty dramatic difference, so much so that I've actually had a friend ask me if I had dyed my hair when he saw it in the winter for the first time.
On the not so positive side, the constant heat and sunshine (wonderful as it is) dries my hair out so badly. It can get pretty brittle if I don't take good care of it.
Summer is unkind to my hair. It gets brassy from sun and frequent washing, breakage from more frequent blow-drying, flat-ironing, and ponytails, and uber-frizzy from humidity (I live in Houston). I'm really trying to avoid my annual "summer" haircut - in which I get so sick of dealing with it that I cut off several inches - and it's driving me crazy!!
My hair does really well since it's so dry, but my color fades so fast in the sun :(
The dry heat leaves my hair very dry even with conditioner. However when it gets humid by mid summer the curls come out in force.

my hair generally likes summer, unless it's raining. It can get a bit dry.
My hair + summer do not mix. Lol
I have naturally coarse hair, which I relax every 6 months (try to keep it as manageable without any of damage)
The summer months tend to make my hair dry and brittle, even with deep conditioning. I try to keep away from styling products or a lot of heat from blowers and flat Irons. I try to keep it away from the sun, wearing a hat or coating it with condition at the beach/pool.
Thanks for giveaway!

My hair and the summer are not friends at all thanks to the humidity which leaves my hair very frizzy with uncontrollable curls.
The humidity makes it a frizzy mess! -Jessica, jewel1996@aol.com
The summer weather affects my hair by making it extremly dry and oily. -_- If its hot out, my hair tends to get really dry and oily @ the roots. Gross much? Lol. I tried using smoothing serum, but it makes my hair more oily. So yep, summer weather is nice yet not so much for my hair. :D

Humidity is my sworn enemey. My hair is poofy with little hairs sticking up all over my head unless I practically plaster them down.
anon_mous@cox.net
I live Georgia and the weather has definitely dictated the look of my hair. If it is not just humid outside, it is randomly raining. All of the moisture causes my hair to go haywire. It almost seems pointless to flat iron it cause it gets instantly frizzy when I step outside, but when my hair is curly it looks like it needs water. So the summer isn't the best time of the year for my hair.
chrystynsview@yahoo.com
My hair is long and naturally curly, but of course I love to wear it straight. This humidity and heat leaves me looking like a frizzy mop! It's not pretty.
fisha20(at)mac(dot)com
i live in DC, so it's very humid here. of course, this means good hair days are few & far between! my hair mostly ends up in a ponytail every day.
I tend to get lots of dryness and frizziness, so I try to blow-dry my hair less and deep condition more!
reneedahlgren@gmail.com
My hair gets greasier and harder to handle as it's so thick and thin. Also with a bunch of river swimming it doesn't get the moisture it needs either!

Lots of swimming and time in the sun lightens the color.
The summer weather damages my hair because of the sun, saltwater, chlorine and of course the air conditioning my hair turns so dry and brittle and very frizzy my hair just becomes dull and kinda brassy and I have to use extra heat tools just too tame it which makes it even more damaged. The carols daughter monoi repairing shampoo, conditioner and mask are some products that I have not yet tried for my hair and they seem amazing from the hydrating factors and that the products are all natural and free of chemicals which is great because your hair is under so much stress and it really needs the natural good stuff like the monoi oil and the bamboo water and the list goes on for carols daughter woww it would be amazing to win these hair products.

My hair isn't even curly and it gets frizzy! And by some feat of physics, it manages to be frizzy and flat at the same time...such a mess. My hair is pretty fine so you'd think it'd be easy to tame but it has a mind of its own!

I have a lot of natural curl in my hair and live in the humid midwest, so summer means the flat iron and blow dryers hibernate and I recklessly try every product I can get my hands on to bring out the curl and curb the frizz.
The Summer weather beats my hair harder than a drummer beats their drum in a band. Imagine a African American woman w/ hair that looks like Annie's. Big & frizzy. I wear my hair natural w/ no chemicals and the 100+ degrees temp in Texas makes it really poofy & frizzy due to me sweating and the terrible humidity. The sun also sucks the moisture out as if it's drinking it like a milkshake. The ingredients in this new CD's product seems they will give me the sleek & healthy look that I'm craving.

--Blair, bmccain32@yahoo.com
With summer weather comes humidity which makes my hair a hot mess- literally. I have very thick, naturally wavy hair and with the humid weather it makes my hair very frizzy. This also increases the use of a straightening iron and straightening products that weigh down and damage my hair. In the summertime my hair is in need of special care because of all the abuse that it goes through.
-Stephanie (stephmcdorman@hotmail.com)
I have natural hair and summer means I sweat which means my edges will not stay straight. Resistance is futile so I ditch the flat iron altogether in the summer. I wash it a lot more in the summer so I rely on product to help keep my thirsty hair moisturized. I love Carol's Daughter and the Monoi line is awesome! Good luck to all!!
Summer leaves my hair extremely dry and the water makes the color fade. The sun however leaves it looking a bit heathier. It's a bitter sweet situation.
Living in colorado, there is a lot of hot dry heat that kills the moisture of my hair. Because of the heat my scalp is usually all sweaty n greasy while my ends r dried up. Having color treated hair n flat ironing/cyrling it drys it out even more. My hair is naturally curly/wavey but because of the dryness my hair doesn't really curl. Most of the time I have my hair in a pony tail because this weather just doesn't work with my hair.

I go swimming in my neighboors pool a lot! So my dry, curly hair doesn't like that. Then it gets really frizzy and poofy. My friends mess with me and say I'm a poodle. Also i straighten it to help with the frizz and poof so i put lots of heat on it.

Summer heat causes sweaty hair, I have to wash twice as often.
My hair has become a bit dry as I wash it often from sweating and from the hot sunshine. I try to take extra care of my hair during the summer though!
I forgot to add my name (Christine) and email (cswuey1891@gmail.com). Thank you!
A combination of chlorine, lemon juice, sun, and humidity does a variety of damage to my virgin (never colored!) hair. I have to deep condition on double-duty and use styling cremes to keep the frizz under control.
When I'm just going out, I tend to sweat and my hair gets oily a lot. The other part of the summer when I'm in a pool, it gets really dry, tangled and gets a disgusting feel to it. It seems like my hair can never be perfect in the summer. Ill was my hair in the morning and by nighttime, it'll feel like a nightmare!

Summer leaves my hair dry and coarse and brittle at the ends, yet my roots get oily quickly. It's hard to strike a balance between moisturizing my hair and preventing it from getting greasy and weighing it down.

The winter time is when people look to keep their hair moisturized but the summer is what does my hair in when it comes to trying to keep the moisture in. Frequent washes due to being more active, beach visits and the pool does a number on my ends. I trim more frequently and spray it down daily with a leave in conditioner/water mix and look for very light oils to coat the ends.
The summer weather does many things to my hair- both good and bad. Having a head of dry hair, my locks tend to need even more moisture during the hot summer days. Plus, with all of the outdoor and beach activities I take part in, my hair just feels greasy and I always have the urge to wash it more often than usual.
On the more positive side, I feel as though the sun makes my hair appear lighter, which I love because I have dark brown (nearly black) hair and it's a nice change :)
michelle9008@gmail.com
The summer is actually kinder on my hair than the winter. As long as I keep it moisturized I have very little trouble. Now that I have found a swim cap large enough to cover my hair swimming doesn't present a problem. However, I am always on a look out for good shampoos and conditioners that help preserve the color.
kryall99 (at) yahoo (dot) com
My hair is already over-processed, thick, and dry. I've been looking for some products like leave-in conditioner and masques to help hydrate it. But summer makes it even worse! I need some help!
Summer weather makes my hair very dry.... all the beach and sun can take a toll on my hair. Have to make sure I keep it well conditioned because all that stress is no good!!

Summer makes my hair act like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The roots get really oily while the ends are brittle and dry! I would LOOOVE to try Carol's Daughter's Monoi hair products to try to combat this breakage. Sephora you have yet to steer me wrong! <3

Hi There,
Because I live in Fargo, ND(Weather Channel voted "America's Toughest Weather City") my hair does not get many breaks. Hot one day, cold the next; dry one week, humid (and most likely flooding) the next! I have wavy long hair with an affinity to change much like the weather in Fargo. Frizzy, greasy, or flat, and again much like the weather tough to predict what my hair will be like the next day.
Sarah
TeachingMN@aol.com
During the summer my hair becomes oily at the roots if I don't wash my hair everyday. But I know that washing your hair every night isn't good for your hair, but I can't stand the smell my hair gets from the oil and because of this my hair becomes dried out.
email: dmuranaka088@gmail.com
My long, thick hair turns into a frizzy, poofy mess in the summer, and without conditioner, I would not be able show myself in public. The heat and humidity are unkind, but I deal with it by using no heated styling tools of any sort, and conditioning like a madwoman.

I live in dry mountain air so my colored/highlighted hair gets a little dry and lifeless looking.

UGH. The humidity.
And not the humidity outside; I can deal with that. It's that humidity after you take a shower and you're in the bathroom getting ready and you are already sopping with sweat again. Your deodorant is all cakey and by the time you have dried off, you look like this.
At this point, product or no, my thick frizzy black and blonde striped mop is impossible to tame. You blow dry for 3 minutes and you have to take a Gatorade break. By the time I get it somewhat dry and straight, I am too hot to even think of wearing it down, so it goes right up in a ponytail with my sweaty curly furs popping out on all sides. WORST!
Oh, and that is Jamie Despres jamielynndespres(at)gmail(dot)com
My hair is thick and heavy all the time. But in the summertime, humidity and perspiration make it flat and stringy! During the summer, I wear my sunglasses like a headband constantly to keep it off of my face, LOL!
Jamie K
jamiedee1999@yahoo.com
Where do I start? Humidity & rain make my hair a hot frizzy mess. Pool water makes my hair crunchy feeling. But my main problem is the frizz & breakage. I have curly/frizzy/breaking hair all the time :(
The summer weather makes my hair extremely oily mainly because my face gets oily too. To prevent washing my hair too much, I use dry shampoo.
The heat and humidity of Baltimore is all it takes to leave my hair frizzy at the ends and super dry! Not to mention, I sweat like a pig (lol) which causes scalp build-up. Summer means much more washing and a little extra TLC :)

My scalp is somewhat greasier, but the ends tend to dry out quicker.
My hair also gets frizzier with increased humidity.

I relaxed my curly, frizzy hair for years to prevent the frizz, but transitioned to my natural hair about a year ago and I dread this weather. I have a few recalcitrant gray hairs in the front--they come in right after I color!--and won't settle down no matter what product I use. When the humidity soars, I walk around looking like I escaped from an asylum. Help! And thanks!

My hair is super thick (even w/a relaxer) and in the summer it is no picnic. Since January, I stopped getting relaxers so I can get my hair back to a healthy state. I spend lots of time out on the town and working out which means some sweating, swimming, and lost of moisture happening often. This causes me to wash my hair more frequently throughout the week. Friends have given me recommendations on "good" shampoos, conditioners, and moisturizers, but nothing works and I'm really losing hope in great hair care products. So please help! Winning these products could potentially be the end all be all to my hair worries!

I have no idea if it's the weather( so much heat) or what but I have notice that this summer my hair is just not the same anymore ... My ends have dried out completely . I cut my hair back in January when my hair was long and made a drastical change when I had to cut it up to my cheeks because of the split ends. Now, the horrendous split ends are back again. I just can't seem to get rid of them . I convinced my husband that I needed a hair treatment that would repair it. So I went to this one store and purchase a xxxxpensive hair treatment that just didn't do justice to my hair I have been wearing it for 2 months and it's just too much $$$. I hope that you guys can save my hair for this summer so it can look better or like it use to look.

Summer and My oily hair isn't a good combo. Being in the heat, I sweat almost immediately...so the sweat & grease combo, I am washing it more often and when that happens, it just starts feeling dull. For me, good hair days are hard to come by during the summer!

My hair gets dry from frequent washing and frizzes up in the humidity. What a mess!
kittylitter1 at gmail dot com
During the Summer the sun damage really takes a toll on my hair.
My hair is super thick and i have A LOT of it, the fact that I use heat (when I go out or go to work) just to dry my hair. Then I go outside and the sun is in full bloom (applying MORE heat? can we say enough) equates to not so shiny and not so healthy hair! When i went to my hairdresser he was like "Oh my lord, what do we do with this" but even with all the conditioning in the world I still face this HUGE problem!
I have found that recently I have faced more split ends and just drier hair, also I am lacking the shine and since I have dark hair (almost jet black) you can really tell! Also the humidity has made my thick hair fall and feel really flat - I have tried so many hair treatments from hair masks to oil treatments nothing seems to be working for my do'. I'm looking for a GOOD product that will really pop and lock that moisture into my suffering locks. Don't wanna go out looking like a hot (literally) stringy mess!
would love to try out these products, thanks Sephora for always being so generous!

My hair tends to get dried in the summer, with the normal grey, coarseness and burgundy highlights. Add to that the humidity of a Florida summer and several trips to the beach (once a month) and you've got a mess for hair. It's naturally very wavy, so I have to keep it very conditioned and well-maintained. I've been using a hair SPF and a hat lately just to keep it in condition. With a blunt bob, longer in the front, it's got to look it's best.

I have A LOT of trouble with the frizzies in the summer time due to the humidity. As soon as I walk out of the salon POOF frizzies and a waste of money! I naturally have a dry scalp so I'm constantly trying to keep my hair and scalp moisturized. Whenever I'm on the right track maintaining healthy hair I always fall off at some point usually in the summer b/c of activities, heat, which can cause a lot of breakage.

OMG - summer + my hair = ugh!!
First of all, my hair gets super-sweaty because of all the sports I play and all the time I spend outdoors. It is not pretty. It is a wet, sticky mess, and I always seem to wash it to get rid of the sweat, which isn't good for your hair if you wash it too often.
Next, my scalp gets super dry and hot! I can feel the heat on my head when I touch it! I try to wet it a lot to keep it cool and dry. I guess I need a moisturizing hair product - which I don't have.
Thanks so much for listening!

The summer weather tends to bake my hair. All the time out in the sun really seems to zap out the moisture and cause my hair to feel dry. I have a relaxer but I'm cutting my relaxed hair off soon and exploring my natural, curly texture. I'm looking forward to seeing my own hair texture but I know curls need moisture so I'm on the look out for products that will prevent it from drying out, especially in these summer months.

The summers here are hot and humid, so taming frizz can be challenging. In the summer half my hair wants to be curly and the other half straight, so I'm in the messy in-between state.
