Get Bumble and bumble’s Messy Ponytail

A messy pony is one of our favorite hair looks. It’s chic, casual, and looks like you’re just too busy cool to bother. The look pictured here is from Alexander Wang’s spring 2008 runway show and is still one of our favorites right now. It was created by Bb.Editorial Stylist Laurent Philippon to embody "model-off-duty" style. Here, we provide you with the list of what you’ll need and the four easy steps to achieving this stylish, relaxed look.

WHAT YOU NEED:
Tonic Lotion
Surf Spray
Hair Powder
Styling Wax

GET THE LOOK:
  1. To achieve this look, begin by prepping damp hair with Tonic Lotion and Surf Spray to lay the foundation for a wavy, tousled texture.
  2. Blow dry by hand (no brush). To add texture and lift at the roots, spray on a bit of Hair Powder, and then loosen with fingers.
  3. For extra separation, work a dab of Styling Wax through the mid-shafts and ends.
  4. Pull hair back and create a loose, looped bun, secured with an elastic band. Leave some pieces of the hair unsecured for a soft, easy look.

Cute on her but sadly, not probably on over 40 me!

Girls with keratin treatments: Stay away from the surf spray!! It will greatly shorten the life of your smoothing treatment!! Try B&B's texture cream instead!

I can get away with the slightly messy pony tail...but not to this extreme.

I love that hair-do, especially with some great makeup this would go with any outfit.

I like the look but don't get the instructions about a "loose looped bun". There doesn't appear to be a bun in the photo.
