SHOW: Zero Maria Cornejo
MAKEUP: Dick Page for Shiseido
MODELS: Tilda Lindstam, IMG; Cailin Hill, Laura Love, Ford Models; Jeneil Williams, New York Model Management; Helen McCusker, DNA; Madelene de LaMotte, Marilyn Models; Hye Seung, IMG.
HIGHLIGHTS: With smoky, dark-rimmed eyes, matte skin, and a blended-out nude lip, the look veered away from the typical fresh summer face, playing off the rough and edgy vibe of the Zero + Maria Cornejo collection.
IN THEIR WORDS:
“Maria said when she was looking at the collection, she was taking out the stuff that was very 'obviously summery,'” said Dick Page, lead artist for Shiseido. “She wanted the girls to be aggressive, sexy, quite rich, and intense. So we did a strong eye, blush quite high on the cheek, which makes it more of like an eye makeup, and a soft butterscotch color on the lips just patted in. Not a strong lip. It’s the look of a girl who doesn’t really want to get her picture taken.”
GET IT: For a clean, matte complexion, Page applied an even wash of cream or liquid foundation all over the face (no powder formulas were used). Shiseido Makeup Translucent Pressed Powder was dusted over foundation. For cheeks, Page mixed together the Shiseido Makeup Luminizing Satin Face Color in Tea Rose (RS302) with the Luminizing Satin Face Color in Soft Beam Gold (BE206) and placed the blush very high on the cheekbones. A trio of colors was used for eyes: Shiseido Makeup Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Sable from the eyelid to the eyebrow using a fluffy shadow brush as well as below the eye, Shiseido Makeup Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Mist on the center of the eyelids only; and Shiseido Makeup Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Leather mixed with Shiseido Makeup Accentuating Cream Eyeliner in Black applied underneath the eye. The same black eyeliner was applied in the inner eye rims, from the water line through the lash roots, leaving no gaps. The liner was also applied in the upper inner corner but not in the tear duct. Dick softened the edge of the lower eye by applying foundation to melt the colors together, and lashes were left bare without mascara. Page also applied Shiseido Makeup Shimmering Rouge Lipstick in Butterscotch for a well-blended, diffused look.
