In the '50s, before there was such a thing as a personal stylist, there was Mitzah Bricard. Striking in her uniform of turbans, pearls, stilettos, and signature leopard print, she was Monsieur Dior's creative consultant. He called her "one of those rare people today whose only reason for living is elegance." That's high praise during an era already known for poised ladies in hats and gloves.
With her exacting eye and savoir faire, Mitzah led the house of Dior to total fashion domination. Til this day, there is always a piece of her legendary leopard print in every couture show.
This fall, Dior is paying further tribute to their eternal muse with a new beauty collection based on her favorite design. You can channel Mitzah's style in a camel manicure or a palette of sophisticated neutrals embossed with a jungle print. Add a pair of leopard pumps to the makeup equation, and we think Mitzah might just approve and smile down from her great atelier in the sky.

Mitzah Bricard looks like she carried the same timeless elegance as Jackie O and I can't wait to check out Dior's makeup line based on Mitzah. Thanks for the heads up!
MItzah Bricard is far more daring and bold in her style than Jackie O.
Anonymous, you have a point. However, Jackie O. was in the public eye and had to dress to the tune of First Lady, not Diva of the Catwalk. She was still iconic, just subtle. Mitzah (which reminds me a lot of the word "Mitzvah," appropriately meaning "party" in Hebrew) was a private citizen, in most regards, AND she had to inspire the great Monsieur Dior. So she had a lot more freedom to play with fashion. Both women were great in their respective roles, wouldn't you say?
Just a quick correction here: "Mitzvah" refers to the 613 commandments in the Torah. In the common vernacular, it means a good deed and festivity, but only in the sense of a religious celebration. "Meseebah" is Hebrew for Party. Elana
I love this look Mitzah Bricard is the reason I have a little wild cat print in my look, even it its just a pair of eye cheaters. Thank you for a timless look. As fo Jackie O I agree is could not pull off this look as first lady.
The "h" was dropped from Ms. Bricard's first name in Wikipedia and elsewhere: http://designmuseum.org/design/christian-dior
