There Will Be Blood Red Lips (And Cat Eyes)

I have decided to become a bad girl.

The sort of girl who does her grocery shopping in high heels, wears red lipstick to the laundromat, and backcombs her hair.

You're wondering, "Why the sudden change of heart, Ms. Taupe Eyeshadow?" I can explain it in three words: Kat Von D.

Her new color collection is officially in Sephora stores now, so natch, I had to send myself on an "official" store-visit-mission.

My report: Apart from being makeup designed by a girl with an appreciation for her tools (her Autograph Eyeliner absolutely glides across your eye), the colors are what you'd expect from a nationally recognized tattoo artist. Swipe the testers on, and you're suddenly this wickedly hot chick with an edgy rocker vibe, saturated lips, and metallilc-flecked eyes.

In other words, this look to brings out your saucy side.

Like me, you'll walk out of there with freshly lined cat eyes, brow bones dusted with sparkling shadow, and a better understanding of what it means to be a vixen.

And when the first guy who gets an eyeful of you suddenly blurts out, "You're so hot!" you just wink your carefully lined eye at him and say, "I know, toots."

Drawn To Drama: Kat Von D Brings Her Beauty To Sephora - COLLECTION LAUNCH TODAY!

Ladies, the icon of ink & edge has arrived at Sephora.

Tattoo artist and reality TV star Kat Von D just launched her makeup color collection at Sephora - and true to her roots, this limited edition lineup has her kinda drama etched all over it (literally! The containers are stenciled with Kat's rose tattoo designs).

What makes Kat Von D so fab (and her look sooo imitable) is her signature blend of old-school Hollywood glamour mixed with a downtown L.A. vibe. Plus, being the artiste that she is, her collection includes a shock-'em pretty palette of colors and the tattools to get a look done to pin-up girl perfection.

We caught up with Kat Von D at our summer cover shoot. We were shooting Kat as Pin-Up Girl (look for her in our Summer "Calendar Girls" catalog) , and then in her signature look, which included beautifully blended smoky eyes and siren red lips. It took Kat all of 10 minutes to complete this look, as we literally looked on in awe--when it comes to makeup, she's a machine!

We caught up with tattoo artist and LA Ink star Kat Von D at Sephora's press event last week, for a preview of her super edgy new product line (she's wearing it in the video - loving that black green shadow) that will be debuting at Sephora in mid May. Check out the packaging--she designed it herself based on one of her favorite rose tattoos. The lipstick? Only in shades of red. The product names? Totally personal: Her signature palette is named after her cat, Ludwig. And the best part? Kat's so nice and completely unassuming--she actually asked for permission to grab a press comp to show her mom. Um, yes?!
